SECOND ANNUAL
NESACS at TANGLEWOOD
Sunday, August 15, 2010 - 2:30 pm

Following on the success of the first “NESACS at Tanglewood”
in 2009, come enjoy another beautiful day in the
Berkshires! On Sunday, August 15th, 2010 at 2:30 pm,
NESACS members, family, and friends can listen to the
Boston Symphony Orchestra performing in the sylvan setting
of its summer home at Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass., in
the heart of Berkshire County, less than three hours from
Boston.

Led by Robert Spano, music director of the Atlanta
Symphony Orchestra, the program has a decidedly jazzy
American theme: George Gershwin’s American in Paris and
Piano Concerto, with acclaimed pianist Jean-Yves
Thibaudet; Gunther Schuller’s Seven Studies on Themes of
Paul Klee; and Leonard Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue, and
Riffs for clarinet and jazz ensemble, with BSO Associate
Principal clarinetist Thomas Martin.

Tickets can be ordered at http://www.tanglewood.org.
Prices are $18.00 for lawn tickets (free for people age 17
and under) and range from $20 to $89 for reserved seats in
the Shed. Tickets ordered via the Web or by phone have an
additional $5.50 service charge; however, purchases at the
Symphony Hall box office do not carry this charge. Shed
tickets are discounted 10 percent for groups of 25 or more.

For those who want to spend the day in what he insists
is the most beautiful place in Massachusetts (if not the country, but he’s biased), come early and gather at the home of Bob Lichter and Diane Scott-Lichter in nearby Alford
before traveling 30 minutes to Tanglewood. The grounds
open at noon, and it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic!
To sign up, contact secretary@nesacs.org. Directions will
be provided to participants.
