At MilliporeSigma, the Scientist, Production will perform general manufacturing duties.  He/she will solve problems in existing synthetic procedures and develop synthetic routes and methodology for research/catalog products.  In addition, the Scientist, Production will provide technical support in Organic Chemistry.
Physical Attributes:
  • Occasional lifting and moving of equipment of moderate weight and/or bulk.
  • Environmental conditions: laboratory environment, exposure to variety of hazardous chemicals. Will wear all mandated personal protective equipment which might include gloves, lab coats, face shields and other PPE.  Will be working with chemicals and laboratory equipment such as flammable solvents, corrosive materials and toxic chemicals.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or other related scientific discipline and 3+ years’ synthetic organic chemistry laboratory experience or Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or other related scientific discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad knowledge within their field of expertise, such as advanced synthetic organic methods, medicinal chemistry, or biochemistry.
  • General knowledge of other fields related to production and analytical methodologies.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems in laboratory processes.
  • General knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DEA regulations
  • General knowledge of other scientific fields relevant to the use of products being developed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including technical documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software in laboratory environment.
