It’s that time of year, again: Science in Your Swimsuit!

NESACS Public Relations is seeking volunteers to facilitate hands on STEM activities at this innovative and joyful event hosted by the

Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club located on the picturesque Lake Wequaquet in Centerville, MA (mid-Cape on Cape Cod).

1pm-4pm

This event is for ages 3-14. Those under 5 are expected to have a parent or guardian assisting them. We welcome any/all participation we can get from the NESACS membership. If you have teens in your home that need volunteer hours (certificates of participation will be provided the Monday after the event), please join us. If you have littles and can bring someone to assist your littles while you facilitate an activity, bring them along to join the fun!

We can provide the activity or if you have an idea and a materials list, we can purchase the items for you, or we can reimburse you when you arrive.

We will provide lunch before the event at the onsite grill and dinner afterwards. The participants gather into small groups (about 10) then they sit down ensemble and enjoy the activity (activities are about 10-14 minutes long-we always have one open activity tables so the groups can organically move to the next table). At the end of 1.5 hours, we have an ice cream sundae bar (will have vegan options, too) and the LIVE music on the deck starts.

Schedule:

1pm -Arrive, setup, eat lunch

2pm-3:30pm -“Roundtable science” activities

3:30pm -Breakdown, Ice cream bar and swimming

4pm – Drinks (complimentary) and live music

5pm- Dinner (buffet style/vegan options will be available at the buffet)

6pm-7pm- Enjoy the vibes at Wequaquet Lake

7pm -Music ends

Event is rain or shine. Event is held inside the Lakeside Room. There will likely be one activity that uses the lake (underwater remotely operated vehicles).
